Place name in Llanuwchlydd? - COMPLETED
« on: Monday 15 April 13 16:23 BST (UK) »
Could anyone please tell me where (or what) 'Westdy yr Afr' was in Llanuwchlydd, Merionethshire?
It was the given address of my gg aunt, Asley Williams at the time of her marriage in Ffestiniog district in 1852 and I'm trying to find the rest of her family. To complicate matters, her father's name is given as William Jones in the parish record and I think the 'Williams' could be as a result of patronymics. She would have been born about 1820 according to the parish record.
Thanks hopefully - Cynfran

It is the Goat Hotel in Llanuwchllyn near Bala, which use to be by the railway station and was at times known as the Railway Hotel
