Almond Store Cottage Muiravonside

I am having a dig at my 3xG grandfather Walter Brown's bother Robert at the moment. He is at Almond Cottage in the 1861 census and Almond Store Cottage in 1871 and 1881. I'm thinking it is the same place in all three. My thinking is it was maybe a semi detached building as on the 1881 I have. 

Almond Store Cottage, dwelling 92 Robert Brown 66 grocer. His wife Isabella (Galloway) 64 and daughter Catherine Scrimegour Brown 24 grocer's daughter.

However also at Almond Store Cottage dwelling 91 is William Pollack 63 sawmill assistant, his wife Elizabeth 61 and daughter Mary 25 a grocer saleswoman.

So was it a semi detached cottage with one half being a grocers in which Robert and Mary Pollack worked and where was it. I can see an Almond road just east of Rumford which crosses the Union Canal just south of Whitecross Industry Park. Could it have been round here ? Was it anything to do with Almond Ironworks ? Could it still be there ?, I guess not after 130 years but then again the building I live in is over 200 years old so who knows. Any ideas anyone ?

Hi Tom, yes I saw that. I'm tempted to sign in to see when it was built but am also wondering if I will then be bombarded with emails on house valuations.

Hi Seoras,

Apparently I had joined previously and forgot all about them, so I cannot remember any spam. I looked at the postcode on Google Maps,and there was an old looking building nearby.

Thanks Tom, I'll have a look at the Google map first. I was born in Muiravonside and drove all over it last summer. I wouldn't mind betting I drove along this road at some point. This year I'm going to make a list before I set off.
