hi all was wondering if i can post some of dads war records will i be infringing any copyrights??
  i do not know how to copy bits from it

If you scan them then the image is yours so there's no infringement.
If you click preview before scanning you will get a dotted line around the image you can then drag this to the part you want to scan.
