Hi Lauraine,

Should have included that cause of death was 'Senile Decay'.

I'm assuming that the Royal Asylum is what is now Sunnyside  Hospital in Montrose. It is a psychiatric unit.

Regards,
Isobel

Dear Isobel:

Thank you - now know it was aged senility - often now called alzhimers in Canada, but are other causes.  The HIRDs & NICOLS generally had longevity in their genes so this term "senile decay" has been seen before. Am very grateful for your help - if anything I can help with in Canada, please adk. :D
