I would agree that Alexander is a relative rather than their offspring.
i hadn't thought of the "domestic service" angle, they may have died befor statutary reg as and such their death wasn't registered.
I was of the belief that she was a grandaughter, but still can't find her birth or death....under that name.
Where does the census say she was born?
according to the Census Inverury (rather than the spelling Inverurie)
