Hi wondered if anyone can help I am still looking for a marriage between Samuel bamford (bamforth-bomforth) born 1792 tideswell and a susan ? born c1792 tideswell or any marriage for Samuel as people changed their names as they wished. Samuel from the age of 14 was living in Sheffield (app cutler) and continued to live in Sheffield until they died Thanks Babs

The name appears to be Bamford.............Tideswell PR's include the following baptism;-

SAMUEL BAMFORD baptised Tideswell 28.08.1791  son of Thomas and Mary.........but he wasn't married there........I'll have a look in Yorkshire.

I can't find a marriage in Sheffield. I've got the cathedral records and some of the other churches but cant find anything in them. Thanks again Babs

Do you have all of their Childrens Christenings to narrow down date of Marriage?

Familysearch has a Samuel BALMFORTH/Sarah ARMITAGE Marriage, 14 Sept 1812, Halifax, Yorkshire

Hi can only find one childs christening that is Eliza christened 14-05-1837 Sheffield cathedral and died 1838 he was called bamforth The others Alfred c1826 Mary c1829 William c1831 cannot find anything only a mary reg in Middlesex born in the workhouse along with a sibling Eliza, mother called Elizabeth Mary.  Thanks for your help Babs

Is there any reason you think they were born Derbyshire.
1841 Census has Saml/Susan born c 1801 Yorkshire.
Children;
Alfred 1826
Mary 1827
William 1831

A Tree has Samuel Bamford marrying Susan ROSE 1825/6 Sheffield
(I cant confirm this)

Hi thanks for this information. Yes seen this before but Susan was born in tideswell and Samuel was born in 1891 with different parents, and Mary born London.
I do not know where they were born I would have thought Sheffield but not been able to find anything here. As both parents were born in tideswell that was my other thought. Mary it says was born in London but again no proof Thanks for all the help I am getting Babs
