Thanks Carol,this is excellent.The Hughes is significant as Leonard's mother was a Martha Hughes born in Birkenhead.Again I had looked at the Cardigan marriage as a possible!

Although this death gave me the clue Ray,the postcode isn't correct.The one that you've given is in Sudbury Hill/North Wembley.

The one where they lived is in Stanmore HA7,almost at the junction of the London Road and Stonegrove,near Canon's Corner ( my husband comes from near there!)

And Stanmore isn't a million miles from Potters Bar, maybe they travelled through PB to get to Stanmore.
