Hi Trish

Well between you and Jim - you have made me v happy. Yes this is the right family. Thomas b 1826 went to London subsequently.

I have been trying to tie in the Inker link for some time , feeling this was the right location and names to look for , but not being able to find the right records.

Very impressed with both responses. I had not noticed your response until just now as I was trying to find James and Sarah's marriage. I was looking for an Inker/stringer marriage!

Have I understood right that you have more information?

Many thanks - sorry abt election result, but Jim could be right...

Leon

Hi again,

Now I think James/Sarah were still alive in 1851.
Sarah is not with James and Grandchildren in 1841 though and I am not sure why.
Possibly looking after Thomas'Children with Dorcas whilst he is working away from Home and his new Wife is with him.
Sarah may be at their residence together as address matches in 1841/1851.
Given her occp in 1841 she may have not been able to be away from Home.
Also a SUSAN Stringer age 5 is with Sarah in 1841.
(Child of Thomas/Dorcas baptised 20 Dec 1835)

Have a look at see what you think.

1841 Census
Porters Building, Bristol Road,
Weston, Somerset
HO107/931/22/Weston
Sarah STRINGER, 60, School Mistress
Sarah, 20, Laundress
Hariett, 11
Susan, 5
All born in County

1851 Census
Bristol Road,
Weston, Somerset
HO107/1943/678/21
James STRINGER, 74, Head, Ser and Major of Militia, Mar, born Stockland
Sarah, 72, Wife, Mar, born Bridgwater

JAMES Stringer Baptised  11 May 1776,St Mary Magdalen, Stockland Bristol, Somerset
Parents SAMUEL/ANN

Not a 100 percent sure but let me know what you think.

Hi Trish

Yes - I think this info fits and opens up new areas for me to look into. I had some info, but the key evidence has been the information you and Jim kindly sent to me.

I have been using ancestry.com and freereg as key sources, as well as wsom.org.uk, but none had the info on Bedminster you supplied from familysearch.org. So many thanks

Leon
