More Redferns in Shirland
« on: Thursday 09 May 13 16:32 BST (UK) »
George Redfern married Elizabeth Haslam in Shirland on 2 Mar 1835 and they had their first 2 children born prior to civil registration coming into force in 1837 - Mary (aged 5) & Joseph (aged 4) both appear on the 1841 census.  Can anyone verify their birth/baptisms in Shirland (1851 census confirms Shirland as place of birth).

If Richard was baptised in April 1841 - he should be on the 1841 census which was taken on 6th June

EDIT
Just found them under Redfearn and Richard is 2mths old and they also have an 11yr old Alice as well

George has re-married to Hannah by 1851

The 11 year old Alice was in fact George's young sister & not his daughter.  Once again Andy, thanks for the baptism dates.
