Hi

Was he actually born in Essex or did he just marry there?  Do you have an approximate birthyear for him?

hello,i don't know where he was born ,he married in Colchester in 1798 ,so I thought he would have been born about1775.he moved to Ipswich about 1805 ,I don't even know when he died but his wife died  after him in 1845.he had four sons between 1800 and 1819.

The Mary Finch who died in 1845 was aged 65 so born approx 1780

There is a burial in St Helens Ipswich on 12.12.1819 for a Benjamin Finch aged 46 which would tie in with the birthyear of their last child

Ipswich St Helen Burial
12 Dec 1819 Benjamin Finch aged 46 years

From NBI - so born c1773.

Woops didn't see CaroleW had already posted the burial.  Doesn't really tie in with the baptism in 1764 but the age could be wrong.
