Here are the photos as promised, First time doing this so I hope it works  :)
I dont know if you can make it out on the pictures but there is the remains of an urn or similar container for holding flowers sort of buried / covered with grass.

I suppose knowing the family were reasonably well off I expected a stone just goes to show you never can tell.
