Marriage lookup - Penkridge
« on: Thursday 16 May 13 13:24 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Could anyone check this marriage for me, please? It's from the familysearch website and I'd like to know whether the original record includes marital status of the bride and groom. Witness names would also be good to know:

Groom: William LEAKE or LAKE
Bride: Ann PARKER
Date: 22 Oct 1832
Place: Penkridge, Staffs.

Thank you in advance

Marianne

22 October 1832 - St Michael and All Angels, Penkridge:

William L(e)ake of this parish, Widower and Ann Parker (x) of this parish, spinster, married by Banns.  Witnesses:  Ellen Simcox (x) and John Brookes.

William clearly signs as LAKE.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi BumbleB,
I'm so sorry not to have replied before now - I somehow missed your response to this query. The Staffordshire L(e)akes are still very much a live project with me and this information is very useful. Many belated thanks.
