COMPLETE Mary Ann Carter Palmer Fisher
« on: Saturday 25 May 13 15:10 BST (UK) »
Good morning Chatters

Help please.

My 3rd great grandfather, George Fisher (1837-1922), married in Ontario for a second time after his first wife died. (His first wife was Elizabeth Morris (1841-1871).  George remarried in 1873 to Mary Ann Carter who had been married to someone named Palmer.

Who was the Palmer  ??? Did Mary Ann have any Palmer children (if so, they don't show up in the 1881 census but I want to double check) ???? When did she emigrate & did she come with her parents? ???

Marriage took place 18 Mar 1874 Lambton, Ontario:

Mary Anne Palmer b abt 1838, Plympton, England
Parents Name:   Daniel Carter & Mary ?
The 1881 census doesn't say when when emigrated. She died in 1890 so I can't see an emigration year in the next census either.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.  :)

I posted too soon - & have figured this out. Richard Palmer b 1819 Ireland was Mary Anne's husband. They had a son Richard Palmer born in 29 Mar 1871.

Son Richard MAY be living in Grimsby, Ontario in 1881 with Robert & Frances Dolmage. I'm off to figure out if Frances might be Richard's aunt (sister to father Richard). ;D

Good morning & welcome to RootsChat PolyR.

I was mostly following the family of her 2nd husband, George Fisher, but did identify her parents from her marriage record to George Fisher: Daniel Carter and Mary.

It appears to be a possibility that she and her Palmer husband were each married prior to their marriage to one another. I haven't explored that thoroughly.

Are you looking for something in particular? I could dive a little deeper. :)

No I was just interested as I seem to have ended up here, as I'm interested in her son Richard PALMER, and while I am happy to do my own research, I always think it a bit of a waste of time "reinventing the wheel" as they say!

Anyway nice to have such a prompt reply from you, and if you wish I'll be happy to update you on anything that I find out about her.
Kind regards
Polly
