1 ancestry tree with Lucy ( & that stops at her marriage ) but nothing for Harold.Apparently their father William was the illegitimate son of a Priscilla Flavell. So not a big family.

The signature on the document is definitely Colonel F. C. Roberts.

If Harold was born 1912, married1926, and had kids in 1927 and 1929 he got off to a pretty early start. There’s a 1942 marriage at Rugby followed by birth of two children. There’s a possible death of the wife in 1952. And there’s another Harold marriage in 1953 followed by one child. There’s also a probable death of Harold age 50 in 1963.

In case it’s relevant the 1st Battalion, The Warwickshire Regiment, left the UK in 1931 and did not return until 1947.

My subtraction seems to have let me down.I think the census is right but not the 1926 marriage.
Although Harold E married 4th. Q 1926 & their 1st. child was born 2nd. Q 1927 so he may have been pushed into it.
I can't find any BMD or census that might refer to anyone else.

If the Harold Jim found is no longer a candidate (or perhaps a lower likelihood) perhaps we could also consider the Eric Harold Flavell aged 6 in the 1911 census (therefore born 1905ish) living in Rugby. We all know how often a boy swaps his names around whenever he likes. How would being aged 6 in 1911 fit in with our time-frame?

I can't find Eric in 1911 however he may be the Harold E marrying in 1926 & the other Harold E marrying 1942 & 53 & dying in 1963.
I still think the Harold you have is the same as the one I found earlier.
There's a will for Harold Edward Flavell died 21/11/1963 Rugby & probated 1965 after a previous will was revoked.Left it all to a widow Ada Kate Taylor.

I know FindMyPast have him but I can't see him on ancestry.
In his will he left £4736 which was a sizeable sum at the time but none of his family are mentioned.
It looks like they've separated some time after 1959 & his original will was revoked in favour of the one leaving it all to someone else.
If I was a surviving child of his I don't think I'd want this which is probably why it ended up in a car boot sale.
