Newcastle St John marriage 1780
« on: Thursday 30 May 13 13:25 BST (UK) »
Please could someone look up a marriage at Newcastle St John which I saw in the IGI and Boyd's marriage index (which unfortunately only give the year):

1780 Benjamin TITENSOR and Mary Walker.

I would be very grateful to know if the register has any information in addition to their names.

Many thanks for your help,

Paul

Have you checked in the Bishops Transcripts, which are online?

Thanks Jen.

I found it in the BTs on 25 Dec, spouse Ann Swinburn (not Walker - my mistake).  The BTs gives only the names and, for some entries, "by licence".  Do the registers contain anything not copied into the BTs?

Regards,

Paul

The BT's are supposed to be a full copy, but very occcasionally extra information can be found.
However, I've seen quite a lot of the original St John's records of about this time and they rarely contain more than the names of the parties.
