Hi..... I believe my Great Grandfather is George Muddyman, I believe others are researching him and would appreciate any information that you may have and an insight as to why you are researching him. Many thanks - Darren

Hi Darren, if it's the same George then he is my 3x grt grandfather. I was searching the Phillips family and my 2x grt grandfather Thomas married George's daughter Eliza. My great grandfather also Thomas was born in Woolwich when his father and mother Eliza were there. The Phillips family were wire workers and travelled to wherever the work was, eventually settling back in Monmouthshire where they were from. I have some birth and marriage certs to back this up but would have to look them out as I haven't done much in the way of research for a while. Kind regards, Phil

Yes Phil, and the Wills have a good source of information in most of them, I found a son who I did not know existed in one of mine.

Hi Phil

Here is the link, if you want to order it, they have gone up to £10.00, if you are on Ancestry, you can view it there. if not just give the dates, I posted earlier, and the registry is Birmingham Warwickshire

Hi Phil, Our paths seem to cross quite well there then as Eliza would have been the older sister of William born 1845? (my 2x Great Grandfather) - making George my 3x Great Grandfather. I'm guessing that we would be cousins several times removed (ish)???? ha

Yes Darren, don't know how many times removed but we are! How far back have you gone with the muddyman's. I will have a dig and refresh my memory as to what I've got. My main problem was that both of my Thomas William Phillips called them selves William even though the younger one ( my grt grandfather ) had a brother called William.
