« on: Thursday 06 June 13 10:34 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Can anyone find the grave of Nathaniel Perkins (other spellings Nathaneil/Nathanael) , died 1839 Blaby Leicester?   Interested in knowing what the grave stone reads. Dates, relatives listed, parents, spouse, etc.  Possible grandfather. Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Vicky

Greetings Vicky……….

Burial details :~

St: Peter’s Parish Church.
WHETSTONE.

1839.

Parish Burial Register Entry No’. 473.

Nathaniel Perkins of Enderby Parish,
26th. April.
Aged. 84.

I doubt if the stone would be still readable after some 174 years. …..
Also could well be that the Headstone has been lifted from the plot position
And place against a wall to help mowing……..

You could try and get in touch with Blaby Council Cemetery Services
There could be a Plot Plan in order to know of position of plot
and who else is buried with Nathan.

MIKE. …….

Combs.                   Botts.
Stallard.                 Hall.

Thank you Half Pint but I think Mike from Leicester answered what I need to know.  :)

Thank you Ciderdrinker. Yes I have all the same info on ancestry but it turns out Nathaniel's actual birth was 1787.  I have the children, wife. Would like to confirm his parents I think it's Nathaniel Perkins & Mary Heathcoat.  Thanks for your help.  :)

Mike from Leicester. Thanks I believe that's exactly what I was looking for. I think the 174 yr old is a relative but i'll have to keep digging.  You did help me determine which Nathaniel Perkins I was looking for.  :)

Mike from Leicester.

Hello I just looked and the Nathaniel you found is my 4th great grandfather!  There are very few Nathaniel Perkins so I knew he was a relative. I was searching for his son born 1787 you helped me find both.  Thank you and cheers.

Good morning Vicky
Sorry to say it .
If this Nathaniel was yours he died in 1839 age 84 years ,he'd be born in 1755.
This fits a baptism in Whetstone near by
Nathaniel Perkins 25.12.1755  s of Joseph and Elizabeth Perkins.
They seem to have married there 25.10.1733 Joseph Perkins and Elizabeth Neal.
Children
John 23.9.1734
Elizabeth 14.6.1736
Mary 6.2.1737
Joseph 21.9.1739
William 14.4.1745
Thomas 7.7.1748
Robert 6.1.1754
Francis born  3.7.1758/bapt.9.10.1759
Jane 23.11.1760
What do you think?
Ciderdrinker
Ps That Nathanial and Mary  may be him and his first wife.
And Mike there's a on line family tree that says the Nathaniel Perkins of 1787 was baptised at St Nicholas Leicester and was buried at St Mary  de Castro 22.3.1836 age 49.
