Bengal Margaret appears to be from a fairly well to do family, so I'm not sure she would have been a servant as GMC's margaret was ....

All it means is that the baby was given the mothers surname, it is unlikely that the father is listed but not certain.

You say that she was born on the 12th but not discharged until the 31st, before her mother, could she have been baptised before she was adopted.  Vicars were notorious in making comments in the margins re illegitimate births

Does that make them a "well-to-do" family or an ordinary working family?

Henry may have "thrown her out", there are many possibilities.
