How to find sailors?
« on: Saturday 08 June 13 19:36 BST (UK) »
Hi, I was told my great grandfather was a sailor. Could somebody point me in the right direction to try to find out more?

I've managed to find his name - Henry J Holloway, born about 1884 but can't find his birth.

He had four children, but there was a big gap between the two youngest from 1917 to 1923 - due to the war perhaps?

Any pointers would be welcome.
Thanks!
Jo

Hi, not entirely sure where he was born but Heywood has been helping me find rest of family and this record looks like a possible:
1911 free index has one in Devonport born in Bristol https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XW9K-MJR

Is the best match to date anyway!

Glad you said 'best to date' - may not be him at all  :)
