Latin help, please.
« on: Sunday 09 June 13 15:00 BST (UK) »
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this request but I know Latin experts view this board, so:
I need help devising a short phrase in Latin to put on a retirement card to a classicist friend.
I did Latin to degree level many years ago  but am very rusty.
I'd like to say:
"In the garden ( in horto), as in retirement, there is both peace (quies)and activity"
(The card depicts a  fresco of a garden)
Or any suitable quotation from the classics would be ideal.
Thanks in advance.

An attempt ...

In horto sicut in otio et quies et industria adsunt
(In the garden just as in retirement/leisure, both peace and activity are present)

This is probably more literal than colloquial, and you may do better to search the web for a real quote from the classics ;)

You might find something here?
