He could have married outside England/Wales. A newspaper obituary might give name of spouse and children.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

There is a small newspaper piece from 1943 concerning an Eric Lamb aged 22 address Alexandra Road, Morcambe (also an alias and alternative address) charged with a small misdemeanour,
Said he had left the army in 1941 due to neurasthenia.
I wonder if it could have been him although its not an uncommon name.

Thanks for that, do you have a link to the article?

Right town, near enough age and the personality fits in with our family rumour of him attacking his older brother prior to his dissapearance from the family home.

1994 isn't so far away that neighbours might remember something if you're in a position to go door knocking, or convince somebody else to do it for you.

They might remember something relevant, or even have his address.... "we swap Xmas cards still" ... or know what job he did and it might be in a big firm that's still around and he's still working there, or known to them.

Of course.... you do need to be close really to start that game.

And/or, the people who bought the house might have an address or something lurking that leads straight to his door.... forwarding address, or they bump into him at XYZ still ... or something.

Alas I am 250 miles away so going door to door is not viable at present.

I did try writing to the address, but no response, also wrote to the address of his offspring, again no response.

I cannot find his offspring and their spouse nor their children via Ancestry nor on Facebook

I live near Morecambe. Alas, Alexandra Road is in the central West End, an area of former boarding-houses converted into multiple-occupancy for rent and hence a very transient population. Some have been knocked down to create more space. I'm not surprised you got no reply.

Alas I have actually live in Alex Rd, the whole of the Wes End has been transitory.

The family thought was that following him attacking his older brother he left the Town, so fnding the newspaper report fills in one of the gaps.

Have you thought about putting this thread on the Essex or Lancashire boards?  Someone with local knowledge may come up with a different angle.

Did he die in hospital or do you have a possible 'home' address for him.  An electoral register search could reveal others of the same name at the property.
