Kyle or Hemphill in Omagh
« on: Friday 14 June 13 00:53 BST (UK) »
I'm stuck for info on the parents of Rose Eliza Kyle, born 17 Dec 1834 in Omagh.  I have ?John Kyle? as her father and Dorothy Hemphill as her mother.  Immigration records for Canada show that Rose Eliza and her mother and brother arrived in Canada in before 1854, but I can find no record of the fathers immigration to either Canada or the US.  All help greatly appreciated!

Yes, Rose had a sister Susanna...thanks for the link, I'm sure it will prove helpful.  She did marry James Carnwath and I have quite a bit from their marriage on, but very little for her or her family prior.  Thanks!

Hi was curious where in Canada your Kyle line went to?
I am researching my Kyle line that came to New Brunswick from Co. Tyrone in 1829.
William Kyle, his wife Mary Cooper, and their 2 year old son, John Albert Kyle, settled in Sussex, Kings, NB, Canada. Mary's mother, Margary Cooper, joined them in 1831. William and Mary would go on to have three more children
William Jr
Jane/Mary Jane
Samuel Patrick
...
I have further info on these children and family lines.
John Albert Kyle (SR) is my 3rd Great Grandfather.

My Rose Eliza was born in Omagh, No. Ireland.  She married James Carnwath in 1854 in Harvey Parish, Albert Co., NB, CN.  That's my "origin" for her in Canada.  Perhaps there's a link there somewhere; obviously before Rose Eliza, but maybe with her father.

Thank you for the info on John Kyle.  Do you have a date of death for him?  And, rather presumptuous, might you have any additional information on his family?  I do have the other six children besides Rose Eliza, but not much else.  The family name Kyle has been passed down in my family, so I'm really trying to trace it back.
Any additional info you can provide would be helpful.  Thank you.
