Many thanks for your help. Incidentally it says on his dicharge that his behaviour whilst in the Army (21 years) was bad, has been addicted to drink and absences. He appears 30 times in the Regimental defaulters book and has been court marshalled 3 times! What a fellow

I am not a direct descendant he never married and was my gt grandfather's brother. Phew!

Thank you for taking the time to help me

4th from the bottom looks like Aperient AG
Ag = silver, which hardly goes with aperients, but maybe it was shorthand for a brand name?

Last 3 are Local, Local, Usual

Can't find anything in my med. dictionary to match the ones beginning with Al..  or D...

Dawn M
Denys (France); Rossier/Rousseau (Switzerland); Montgomery (Antrim, IRL & North Sydney NSW);  Finn (Co.Carlow, IRL & NSW); Wilson (Leicestershire & NSW); Blue (Sydney NSW); Fisher & Barrago & Harrington(all Tipperary, IRL)
