hello Garstonite. Yes under the bridge was a bit isolated from the rest of Garston/Liverpool. Two ways in and out Blackburn Street and Church Road. Hundreds of terraced houses huddled together surrounded by factories. However no one need to go out of the confined area-everything was on hand. Industry, schooling, retail, recreation and worship. Most of this is gone- nearly all. However there are new houses being built and the area is getting on its feet. best wishes to you.

I still live in Garston - Gods little acre and I am up the village off St Marys Road .

Sadly you are both wrong at this present date - that line now stops at Garston Freightliner depot . Ainsley was right - it used to go right through Brunswick and on to Central Station ...I think it stopped about 20 years ago  :)

yes depends on weather you liked the bottle works or not. I liked the job because I was surounded by good workmates. We went the match together, socialised and worke together. Thats the way it was under the bridge in those days- brilliant. However there was some hard jobs in the Bottle Works like the Batch Hole- hard physical labour. The enamelling plant I worked in was cushy.
