Yes thats right. i checked the year before that was 1897 when i found this entry but it was the same ship and also arrived in October. Tattyhead :-\

He possibly worked as crew for a few voyages, but I am a bit worried by the marriage in SA, those ships stopped at most of the ports and picked up cargo on the way to transfer back to europe.

IE Fremantle then SA then Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane. Maybe he had a friend in every port :o

Actually the name was. Wlihelm Carl Albert SANDER . Probably heaps of them around then.
The Prinz Regent Luitpold was doing almost twice yearly runs to Australia since 1894 and went through to 1910.

The REF# is 216/906
Seems she didn't die in SA prior to his leaving (IE If It's Him) She didn't die in Qld either prior to his marriage. ???
