This is Edmund Henry Owen (Aka Owen)
I have inquest record of his mother Sarah Jane Carr (formerley Hilliard). The birth date of Edmund Henry Perry is the same as Edmund Henry Owen (same Mother). This family has given me so much grief.
Thank you all for the great help

Police Court Monday 11th November 1878
Orphans:- Edmund Henry Perry, Sarah Jane Carr and Elizabeth Kate Carr, aged 11, 6 and 3 years respectively, were charged with being neglected children.  From the evidence of Mrs. Annie Barnach, wife of Wm Barnach, an employee of the Albion Factory, it appeared that the  mother of these children was found dead in Yarra Street some time ago.  Their Father, who was a labourer, was admitted to the hospital on Friday last, suffering from heart disease, and he died the same day.  Neither parents had any relatives in the Colony at the time of their deaths, and they were in very poor circumstances whilst alive.  Witness took them into her house after the father died.
Constable Rice stated that he visited their house after the death of the father, and found it in an unfurnished and miserable condition.  The boy Perry was the son of Mrs Carr, by a former marriage.  Perry was sent to the Industrial School, at Sunbury, for three years; while the girls were sent to Royal Park Industrial Schools, until each shall attain the age of 15 years.  The Police magistrate referred in terms of approval to the conduct of Mrs Barnach, in acting the part of the good Samaritan towards the unfortunate children.

Illustrated Australian News (Melbourne, Vic. : 1876 - 1889)
Thursday 31 October 1878
The dead body of Sarah Jane Carr, wife of a laborer residing in Chilwell, was found on the morning of the 15th Oct. lying alongside the fence enclosing the Grammar School play- ground in Yarra-street. Constable M'Cracken noticed the body as he was on his way home from duty, and with the assistance of Con- stable Carey he removed the corpse to the Rosemary Branch Hotel. The woman was last seen alive on Monday evening, about eight o'clock, at which time she was intoxi- cated. At the inquest held on the body, the medical evidence proved that death resulted from cold and exposure, while under the in- fluence of liquor.

I have a lot of newspaper articles from the Geelong Examiner, about the death of Sarah Carr.
"Samuel Carr turned up at the local lock up with a cup of coffee to bail Sarah out. Expecting that she had been locked up for drunkeness. Only to find out that she was dead"
I have the inquest for Sarah Jane Carr, the sadest one is for her daughter Mary Ann Carr, aged 8 months.
Another few questions are, Why did Sarah change the surname to Perry? Was it because she arrived at Warrnambool, 1859, aboard "Commodore Perry"?, and trying to escape Henry Owen?
Was Sarah Jane Hilliard a prostitute (cannot find any information)
And I have not ruled out this birth

William Hilliard
Born 3rd April 1863, lying in hospital, Melbourne
Name William (not present)
Illegitament
Mother Sarah Hilliard, born Dublin, aged 21 years
Informant Dr Fetherston

Referring to the birth of William 1863,  it sounds quiet likely doesnt it.

Below is a link for the Melbourne Lying In Hospital, Midwifery Record Book
Aug 19th 1856 to Mar 15th 1879

If you find the birth in the link it may give more info.
