I am only sure of Henry Owens in Melbourne.
"Two Blind Men" 1853 I think rules out Henry Owens from Tasmania??? or does it??
I think it is back to the drawing board

I wouldnt rule him out entirely just yet.

The passenger list departure from Tassie was dated 10 Apr 1853

The newspaper article was dated Saturday 20 August 1853

There for Henry from Tassie was in Melbourne in Aug 1853.

I think we need to find more info before ruling either one in or out.

For a "Blind Old Man", he gets himself into some strife.
I have a birth cert somewhere for his son Edmund Henry Owens 1867 (trying to find it)
Henry Owens is listed aged 61, Butcher of Warburton Lane, Melbourne
Mother Sarah Hilliard aged 30years

"Henry Owens, a blind old man, and Sarah Hilliard, charged with insulting behaviour, were cautioned and discharged" 1869

I dont think they could have ever been married

A butcher  yet if its the same fella he was blind in 1853. Or i wonder if a butcher was his previous occupation 

edited.. When putting Henry Owens into Trove for VIC he only starts to show up in 1853

Unfortunately the dead woman was actually Mary Ann OWEN and her husband was John.

It gets complicated. Two years after the birth "Henry Owens & Sarah Hilliard are charged with insulting behaivour" So they were not married as they stated on the birth cert (1867) of their son
Maybe "Butcher" was a previous occupation? I doubt if they would list his occupation as "Illegal Brothel Keeper"
This one is not straight forward. It gets stranger when Sarah leaves Henry and changes the sons surname
Hopefully one day I will get to the bottom of this
