What have I done?
« on: Monday 17 June 13 11:45 BST (UK) »
I received a notification that a topic I had posted on had a new reply.  When I "click" the link I get this message:

"The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you."

When I try to find the topic it is not there. I looked at my profile for my posts to the topic - none there.  What have I done? Feels like I must have done something wrong and have been blocked from the topic somehow.  Am I in some kind of sin bin? :'( :'(

I suspect that the topic has been merged, or deleted!

In any case, that topic/thread no longer exists.

Have you tried the search function, searching for terms used in the topic?

Have tried the "search" function - nothing there.
Have tried looking up the op posts - op post list has no postings related to the topic.
If a topic gets merged then one gets notification of the merge ....
The topic has just disappeared  .... Or is invisible to me only and me being paranoid is racking my brains to try to remember what I could possibly have done or posted to be "blocked" from the topic.  It's very confusing ..... And the topic, search and information was very interesting so I was interested to see what the result was looking like 24 hours later.

Perhaps the topic was just deleted .....why would that happen?
Cocksie
Ps thanks for your quick response it has made me feel better

Cocksie,

I understand that the entire thread on Clarence "Clad" Mannix (650530) was deleted overnight by a moderator. I think that may be the one you are missing: " Trying to find an elusive death record" ?   Apparently a living person had been named.

Hi ShaunJ

The thread was removed for editing by a Moderator not deleted. I had PM'd Cocksie earlier today.

Regards

Sarah :)

Hi Sarah - I  didn't know that. When this happens is it possible for the mod to put up a temporary message where the thread should be so that contributors know what's going on?

Regards

I've had quite a few of these "missing or off limits" posts recently.  I just assume that they were some kind of spam or advertising that had got through but swiftly deleted by the mods.  I've never given them another thought.  I suppose if it was a thread I'd been contributing to I might have wondered where it was.

There must have been more information on the message as I read something about it being quarantined because of the mention of possible living people when I 'clicked' the link. That would have been during the night UK time.
