Ashburton didn't open until I think 1884,
so where did Catholic folk bury their families prior to this,?

Radcliff,
Don't you think I've had enough spellings to contend with
I think you are enjoying this
It sure is amusing and unbelievable but as I say, I hate easy crosswords where you can finish it in 10mins but with this lot I will be here forever & a day.
Supper time - should have had it earlier but too engrossed here

Hi Guyals (Guys & Gals)
Been doing some more digging and found this:
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/Details/AddtoBasket?iaid=D7910905
Seems my gg grandfather was connected with:
"ADM Records of the Admiralty, Naval Forces, Royal Marines, Coastguard, and related bodies"
I have also discovered that a Mariner is different from a fisherman which does help as there is more chance of obtaining "paperwork" relating to him.
The NA's have 15 pgs (£3.36) so I'm curious what is on there as 15 is a lot especially if they are A4?
Annie.

Mmmm "Title: Name Donahoe, James Place of Birth: Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland … Date: [1853-1872]"
Looks to me this is his probable Service Time? which rules my James out as he was born 1848 & died 1871
Any advances on what that date actually does correspond to???
I am going to give them a call I think

That was a good find Annie - for £3.36 I'd certainly go for it to see what it reveals
The record does show - Date of Birth: 23 March 1848. I think that the dates [1853-1872] are the range for that series of records.
Let us know how you get on as I'm sure we'd all be very interested.
Regards
JJ

Your right Jen,
Think I'm just paranoid now. I'm away to order it online and yes - Cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even if it did turn out to be wrong person which I doubt now.
Annie
P.S. I have discovered (maybe just a coincidence) that orders online seem to be dealt with quicker than telephone orders
Probably because the online order has all the details we already have provided so missing out the middle man - telephonist who has to note it all then pass it on.
