George Burman: England to Canada 19th century
« on: Friday 21 June 13 02:50 BST (UK) »
Family lore has my great grandfather George Burman coming to Canada as a teenager with his sister (name n/k). He settled in Lambton county Ontario Canada. His death certificate lists his birthdate as July 1, 1849. No parents are listed. Also the legend has his father fleeing Europe (Germany?) to England.

Hoping someone has a lost Burman ancestor who came to Canada. Any help appreciated and received with thanks.

You say "Family lore" has him coming to Canada and you seem to have his death certificate. Where is the certificate from and what is his death date please.  ;D

George died 20 Feb 1938 at Wallaceburg Kent county Ontario. Reported by his son who wrote George's father's name was also George, no mother is listed.

Yep that's the family. Thank you for searching that area. I have a lot of the family info going forward after George established himself in Ontario. I am willing to share it wanted. My "black hole" are his parents and other ancestors.
