Catherine Considine, born c1820, lived in Liscannor
« on: Friday 21 June 13 06:32 BST (UK) »
Hi.  I'm hoping to find some more information about my g-g-g-grandmother, Catherine Considine.

Catherine was an Irish immigrant who married Luke Everitt in Sydney, Australia in 1841, and died in Albury in 1900.

Her father's name is given as John on her death certificate.  This is commonly connected to John Considine born c1797 and died in Ennistymon in 1859.

The likely candidate appears to be Catherine Considine (Consadine on one record) age 20 who arrived in 1840 on the Elphinstone.  The arrival record states she came from Liskanagh which I have worked out is probably Liscannor.

The arrival record also lists her mother as Margaret Mahony - wife of Michael, dead.

It's not entirely clear whether it is Catherine or Margaret who is the wife of the deceased Michael, but I suspect it is the latter.

Any information about this family would be appreciated.

Thanks for the links.  May come in useful as I've just identified a second ancestor from County Clare - a bounty immigrant this time.
