Hi Marienne
Sorry to query this because I'm not sure if this is the right Mary Hannaway with the grave numbers being so similar but two different years

Ford SD 866 Mary Hannaway 8 Oct 1935

Ford SD 886 Mary Hannaway 15 July 1930

Is this the Deed Holder for 1935 or 1930

It's 1935 I would like if possible

Thanks
Deb

Hi Deb
There is no Hannaway interred in Ford SD866.
Also no Mary Hannaway in the index in 1935, only the deedholder (undated) for SD 886 as reported.

Hi Marienne
Thanks for getting back to me + checking

I found three Mary Hannaway in Ford SD 886

Mary Hannaway  Towcester Street  1 Jan 1929
Mary Hannaway  No Address          16 Jan 1929
Mary Hannaway  No Address          15 Jul 1930

Possibly the two 1929's are Wife + daughter to the Joseph Hannaway Towcester Street dying also 1929 + possibly the other is Mother of Joseph - confused I will be!

As you said possibly indexed incorrectly - I need to figure out this 1935

Apologies for rattling on, thanks again
Regards
Deb

Hi Marienne
I found three Mary Hannaway in Ford SD 886

Mary Hannaway  Towcester Street  1 Jan 1929
Mary Hannaway  No Address          16 Jan 1929
Mary Hannaway  No Address          15 Jul 1930

Regards
Deb

Hello Deb

These records we have access to on Ancestry are not 'all' actual burial records, some are administration logs (for want of a better description)
An actual Burial record will show the name of the deceased, age and address at death, date of burial and section and plot number.

Taking your 3 entries, none of them show the right details to be a Burial record, but are Admin logs for the grave and deed holder:

01 Jan 1929
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/2183/images/engl56170_282-for-4-1_m_00283?

If you look at the image, its an admin log. It says that Mary Hannaway, of Towcester St, paid £4 13s 6d to purchase the right of burial in Grave SD 886. Its not a burial record, its just showing that she is the Deed holder. Often by the time the deed holder died the grave may have been full, so IF she is buried at Ford it could be in a different grave and probably was as Marienne has given you the names of all the people in that grave and she's not on there.

Marienne has access to the graves registers, which show (after a lot of rooting around, they are usually very complicated) who was buried in each grave and when.

From Marienne's reply, I see that a Joseph Hannaway, of  13 Towcester Street   was buried on 3/1/1929.
So it would make sense that when Joseph died Mary arranged the funeral - including purchasing the rights of burial in SD 886 on 1st January.

and this is his entry in the Burials Register when he was buried two days later:
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/2183/images/engl56170_282-for-1-13_m_00042?

Does that help to explain?

Boo

Hi Boo
Thank you, that explains a lot.
I understand now what Marienne meant by no 1935 burial + it had been indexed incorrectly
Definitely one too many Mary Hannaways!
Thanks again I really appreciate the help

Good morning folks, can I please trouble you to look up those interred in Ford AS943. There should be members of the Flanagan family interred including Henry b1851.

Also Ellen Flanagan 1818-1884. Can you please confirm she is in public section 1293.

I am also trying to find John Flanagan 1816-1891 but cannot see any record for him.

Many thanks and take care, John

Hi Marienne, many thanks as ever for the comprehensive details. I could not find anything for John Flanagan either, never mind.

I did see an Ellen Flanagan on Ancestry, buried 26th March 1884 age 66, grave is 1293 but not sure if that would be SV or another?

Thanks again and take care, John
