Thank you Ozranga, that's very helpful. A lot of young deaths there. Could you maybe look up one more for me? I've looked on the map of the cemetery on here, and can't see where this one might be, but the plot is 1379 and the name is Joseph Fegan?

Thank you again Ozranga. Is that the standard at Yew Tree, that public graves are simply numbers and private are in a named section? I suppose another aspect of public graves is that they would be filled as needed, with no relationship between the people in them.

Ozranga said this grave is in section A so it does have a letter. Just to explain about how the Liverpool RC burial records usually appear. The public burials were usually in the same section on the page. The public section letter for public burials should appear at the top of the page but sometimes it was missed out. The public burials were often recorded by number only as they were all in the same public section letter. The private burial entries had to include the section letter because at any one time people were being buried in a variety of private sections. Public burials at Ford and Yew Tree were paid for by the family of the deceased there were no pauper burials. At one time public burials were the most popular type of burial there was no stigma attached to public graves. The family paid for one place in the grave the other places were filled by non-relatives as this type of grave was not a family plot.
