I thought the A could refer to adult and the C to child. Perhaps it could be the available spaces still in the grave? Liverpool RC Diocese should be able to tell you what it means.

Managed to find out. The 2A1C does refer to 2adults and one child. This is actually not correct as there are no children in there.
