Hello everyone!
Can someone tell me where Wilsonton is?  I have Ralph b. 1757 in Wilsonton, Stafford - according to the Canada, British Regimental Registers of Service, 1756-1900 listed on ancestry.

Thanks!

I also reckon Wolstanton. Which could also mean that they were born in Burslem or other Northern Potteries towns as they were covered by the Wolstanton Parish.
Clewes is a classic Potteries name
Stanton of Stafford
Bourne of Stoke-on-Trent
Smith of Stoke-on-Trent
Philpott of Pontesbury
Pugh of Worthen & Pontesbury

Thank you everyone.
I know that Clewes is a common name in these parts.  It also says on this record that he was a weaver .... another common occupation?  Now, need to wade thru all the Clewes' in the area to see if he is really mine!

Cheers!

Interesting that he is a weaver as there is an area very near to the Potteries known as the Weaver hills (for obvious reasons)
Stanton of Stafford

Smith of Stoke-on-Trent
Philpott of Pontesbury
Pugh of Worthen & Pontesbury
