Father of Alice Gertrude Chambers (Eastwood Nottingham)

Hi again,
Can anyone help me find the biological father of "Alice Gertrude Chambers"?  She was born Sept 1900 in Nottinghamshire, birth Mother, "Sarah Eliza Chambers".  Alices Mother, Sarah married a "John Stirland Flint", who adopted Alice.  They lived in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.

Hi  I presume you have the birth certificate. and it doesn't list a father's name?
 I believe, though will stand corrected, the father had to give permission before his name was listed.
Any baptism record?

The father not only had to give permission, but had to be present at the registration!

You may find a name on Alice's marriage certificate - but many people "invented" a fictitious father, in order to look respectable!

As Tinam said, a baptism record may show a father's name?

In the census Sarah is listed as wife of George, not as his daughter. Someone in Anc has her down as his wife@@ ....have sent a message to tree owner.

On the 1891 census, George's wife is Eliza Ann (b1853), so this must be her death:

On the latest census (which we aren't supposed to discuss!), there is a column headed:
"Children born alive to present marriage"

The number 5 has been entered for Sarah Eliza Flint, and 5 children are listed!
Including Alice Gertrude!

Maybe that's a clue?!
