Charles Cowdle Bermondsey

I'm looking for the family of Charles Cowdle. Charles was transported to Australia on the Grenada in 1818. I know nothing about his family but his convict record states that he came from Bermondsey.

Hi Wren,

Have you seen the Charles Cowdle on the Old Bailey site? Transported for life for 'highway robbery' (1818). I found this by typing his name into Google. No help with family - but fascinating stuff!

Dear Ros
Yes I have. Charles was a very interesting and shady character. He married and supposedly had two children. Was in business with various people and died at the ripe old age of thirty-seven in Sydney in 1837. I've searched all possibility of burials withs no success and his inquest gives no satisfaction.
His wife ran away and married someone else while Charles was still alive. All very mysterious.
