Look up in Charing Parish Records please.

Hi, Could anyone help me please. I am trying to find the birth of my G.Grandfather, Alfred Austin with a possible middle name of John, as far as I know he was born in Charing about 1841 with a possible mother called Mary but no father !!!!! and I was told by someone on Family Tree Forum that someone on here had a DVD /Cd of Charing Parish Records, If anyone could help I would be most grateful. The 1851 has an entry - probably mis-transcribed - for Alfred Auston - b 1841 Canterbury Kent - parents William & Maria

There is no entry 1851-1891 with a birthplace of Charing Kent

The 1871 census shows his birthplace/year as 1841 Ashford

1881 - 1839 Ashford

1891 he is Alfred John b 1837 Ashford

Thanks for your help, this is the info I already have.
It would appear that Thomas Crowhurst married Mary Austin in 1849 in the 1851 census Alfred is 12 and supposedly their son !!!!! I just  cant find anything before that, in 1861 I can find him living with his "Sister or "Sister in Law" in Love Lane, Rochester, Kent which is where he was living when he married the next year. I just cant find a birth or parents, On his marriage certificate his father is down as "Alfred" but I can find no Alfred in the 1841 census that matches.

When Mary Austin married in 1849 - was she shown as a widow or as a spinster?  If her age was 27 in 1851 - she would only have been 15 when she had Alfred (assuming she is his mother and not his sister)

Forget the above - here's the marriage from FS and her father was George Austin.  She is therefore not Alfred's sister
