Trying to build out the Chapman families from Haddenham...

Any ideas?
Chapman from Haddenham to North Marston, Buckinghamshire; Bradwin in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire; Cox in  Haddenham, Buckinghamshire and may be more Haddenham families as I make my journey back in time :)

Going back further than the 1841 census returns etc.  you'll need Buckinghamshire parish records for your Chapmans.

More of your pocket money needs spending. :(

So now I am intrigued! I am trying to do a families of Haddenham tree and John Chapman nos. 1 and 2 born 1821 have appeared on the radar.

I have found one John Chapman, with what I am pretty sure is mother Elizabeth and sister Isabella in 1841 in Haddenham.

I then find someone who I think is the same guy in 1851 in London with Aunt Isabella.

In 1861 I think I have him twice, once with Mum and sister in Haddenham, son John also appears to be present.  John snr is shown as a timber merchant from Pimlico.  He also appears on a census in London with wife Caroline, various children and mother-in-law Dinah Fletcher as a builders' labourer.  Not the first time someone has appeared in the census twice, son John is also in both places.

After that he seems to become a grocer.

Now the thing that really intrigues me is the children.  Daughter Sarah born 1852 in Haddenham per 1861 census could be one of any of

CHAPMAN, SARAH       HOLLAND
GRO Reference: 1850  S Quarter in AYLESBURY  Volume 06  Page 353
   CHAPMAN, SARAH       TERRY
GRO Reference: 1852  D Quarter in AYLESBURY  Volume 03A  Page 378
   CHAPMAN, SARAH  FRANCES     COP...
GRO Reference: 1853  J Quarter in AYLESBURY  Volume 03A  Page 367

Note none with mother's maiden name Fletcher.

1871 shows children
Ann Chapman   15
William Chapman   15
John Chapman   13
Thomas Chapman   11
Elizabeth Chapman   9
Ruth Chapman   5

I cannot find birth registrations for any of these with mother's maiden name Fletcher.

Any one got any ideas/suggestions?

I haven't 'tackled' the other one in detail yet!

Interesting, I reckon if Sarah daughter of John and Caroline Fletcher is there she will be the one with mmn Terry, but I am beginning to suspect that they didn't register any of the children for some reason.
