Isn't the catacombs part accessed via the museum? It's what I recall from when I visited a section of it circa 1986/87.

Oh and I worked at the SLV at around the same time, it was I considered one of the best places I have ever worked at. Spend a lot of time in the stacks and enjoyed ;D being the "Head Librarian" in the center of the Reading Room.

Mick

Have you ever had the chance to go "behind the scenes"? In to the stacks or the catacombs?

The museum moved to Carlton Gardens in 2000.  SLV now occupies all the buildings on the site.

The museum was closed for a couple of years before the move.  There were so many people who came in during that time who were disappointed that they couldn't see Phar Lap that the SLV had to borrow him and put him on display.
