Robert's son Joseph did appear to end up back in Mass. as he signs up for ww1 there rather than in Canada. https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/KZNG-84Z   Yes, I see they returned to lynn and had their babies there right after the 1911 http://www.rootschat.com/links/0yww/

With Robert a seaman, being able to transport family back and forth ( Joseph & Wm were waiters on a steamboat in 1911) also the girls worked in a Cotton Mill. If the work dried up in Canada, many moved back & forth to work at  Mills down south. Perhaps a death may show up for Robert down there if you can't find one in Yarmouth. So sad no Registration records exist for the time period you need...

So you've asked about the parish marriages, etc. for all the brothers, deaths & marriages as well, then?

Yeah, the Marling was a guess from what I saw on screen I had to enlarge it and see it wasn't close.

Hi J.J.

I did ask St. Ambrose Church if they could find William & Jane's marriage. They indicated that they were swamped with family tree requests so I didn't think it fair to ask for more than that. As it turns out, they said they didn't have any record of their marriage. I must admit that I was surprised as William & Jane were living next door to each other on Tooker St. in Yarmouth at the time, not very far from the church. I know that all of their children were baptized there though - I've seen one of the baptism certificates. And, as I said before, a number of the Miller clan have been buried in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery which is associated with St. Ambrose Church/Cathedral. I also scoured the Drouin collection as Jane's family was French (Clements) but I couldn't find anyone in that either. Unfortunately, I live several thousand miles away from Nova Scotia now so a trip to Yarmouth isn't really in the cards and the Catholic records are not accessible on-line. Hence my request for a lookup using the actual parish records.

Hi J.J.

St. Ambrose Church was called All Saints Church until 1889 when the new building was erected. It seems likely that they were married in All Saints Church but I thought the records would have been transferred to the new church. I have no way of knowing where the records went otherwise. Someone in Halifax is trying to see if there is a copy of the Catholic records there but it is looking more and more as though Yarmouth will be the place if they exist at all.

Couples sometimes get married in the wife's family's church, and baptize the children in their own... Sorry that we haven't anyone doing  look ups in that area...but if St. Ambrose Church is doing lookups I think it is up to them to decide whether or not they want to do more than one for you...

Can't hurt to try ...at the very least you may find a marriage c.1860 for Simon born c. 1836 and Ann/ Mary Ann  ( don't give her surname just a date range) Most libraries do one to three free lookups per request, but not sure if they do or not.
Saint Michel of Tusket/Argyle  http://www.westerncounties.ca/library/church.html
Just a form, but perhaps you can ask in there if they do lookups in that publication, or if they might tell you who could... http://www.westerncounties.ca/askus.html

Maybe they might have baptisms for Joseph & Margaret Doucett whom you believe may belong to Mary Ann. Keep in mind Mary is a name given to millions of females at baptism, and is sometimes used on documents...Same for Joseph, etc...so one must keep an open mind in that regard, but still try to hone in on all truths
For those looking in the 1871 and 1881 census ( also note Jennie & Jane are sisters)

They have the publications here as well, I think

Thanks J.J. I'll try these as soon as I get word back from Halifax as to whether or not that person met with any success. I'll post the results here.
