where do I look for Isabel Hall b Fallkirk? 1761
« on: Sunday 14 July 13 20:10 BST (UK) »
ISABEL HALL: her father is Robert (from marriage)
Birth 1761 in Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland
married: William Dickson 6 Jun 1789 Cannongate Edinburgh
Death 13 Nov 1831 in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland

Where do I look for any records of the family in Fallkirk? Births, Deaths? etc. I know this is about the time the ironworks started and perhaps her father (a moulder) went there for work. I suspect he was born Edinburgh but I have no age etc for him at all. Only the father was mentioned on the marriage record.
Searching: Coulter, Morrison and Henderson, McDonough and McCommiskey in Ireland; Hall, Johnston, Dickson, Danskin in Scotland; Taylor, Maddocks/Maddox, Smith in Birmingham and Shropshire. Heselton in Yorkshire

Hi Lilyione.

Welcome to Rootschat.

Try the following web sites:-
scotlandspeople.gov.uk
falkirkcommunitytrust.org/venues/callendar-house/

I would suggest you start with the last one.
Callendar House is the Falkirk Museum and they may direct you back to Scotland's People which is a pay site, but a very good one at reasonable cost.
You are right about the ironworks and, again, the museum will be able to help with that.

Good luck & happy hunting.
Cheers,
Rob.
