Eric Davis Chesters

I hope that this is the right place for this request, as I am not sure just where to place it, as it covers several possible forums.

I am seeking information about Eric Davis Chesters. He was my mothers brother, but I was not aware of his existence until recently when I was starting my family history.

I have a copy of his birth certificate, born 31 Aug 1907. Birth was registered at Edmonton, Sub Register West Tottenham.

I am led to believe, but have no proof one way or the other, that he was in the navy, Royal or Merchant, I do not know. I never heard my mother mention she had a brother, but found out about him from the 1911 census.

I am also led to believe that he died in 1999, in Hertfordshire, but again, have no proof.

Any ideas of where to start looking for information would be very gratefully received.

1939, Eric Davis Chesters and Clare Mary Chesters
52 Harrington Street, NW1 (St Pancras)

1946, Chesters, Eric D & Clare M
52 Harrington Street

And every year until 1963!
Will check the addresses.

Eric & Clare were at 52 Harrington Street through to 1953.

From 1956 they were at 55 Harrington House, and were still there in 1965.

I am not aware of any children, and in fact your finding of a marriage is welcome news.

I never heard from my mother about him, and for a while, my aunt lived in the same town, and also never mentioned the fact of a brother. Just why is a mystery.

There is a death of an Eric CHESTERS registered at Watford in Sep qtr 1999, birthdate given as 31 Aug 1907. It is also registered under Eric DAVIS-CHESTERS.

There is also a death for a Clare Mary D CHESTERS, Dec qtr 1982 Camden, birthdate given as 19 Jul 1899, which could be his wife.

As per usual, I did not thing to look for the different ways of spelling/appearing, Duh

Also, thanks for the information about his wife. That would make her some 8 years older than him. I had not considered her that much older
