Do you know what state?  Is it Syracuse New York?  or another State?  Also, New York did not recquire vital records be registered until 1881.  Anything prior would be filed with the local town or village. Most did not require registration births.

You may need to find her another way.

Thank you very much for that.  It was Syracuse New York if not registered there would they have to register her when they returned to staffordshire.
