Baptism look-up please
« on: Sunday 21 July 13 20:45 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have been looking for years, but with no joy for the baptism record for a Morris Lawrence.  On all the census records he states his place of birth to be Chatham, Kent, and against his age, that should be around 1814.  His parents are Thomas Lawrence, and his mother was Mary Green.

He had 7 siblings, but none of them were born in Chatham, 5 of them were from Norfolk, one from Middlesex and one from Wales.

If anyone is able to do a search and see if they can locate him that would be really good.

Thanks

Have you tried looking through the PRs on the CityArk website, which is the Medway area records.

Nothing indexed, you have to look at the images individually.

St Mary's was the only C of E church in Chatham at that time.

The only years for this parish transcribed on FreeREG are 1813-15.

I can't see Morris Lawrence though.  :-\

The only LAWRENCE baptism in this period is Henry, son of John & Mary 20th June 1813.

He may have been baptised earlier/later but could they have used a non-conformist church?  Alternatively he may have been born in Chatham but baptised elsewhere.
