Hello Every-one
                   Do hope some-one can help me.one never knows.have posted about Anderson gray.on this page before.and had wonderful help.from two special ladies.okay did not find him.but was not for want of trying.well tonight some-one e-mailed me ,about a Tennesse Enumeration of male voters of 1891.location .Stewart Tennesse.United States.
 says on it .Anderson Gray age 80.
 now not saying its mine.but is there a way to found out .is there a census could be on in Tennesse.all know is had a son Horace Gray in 1839.Horace was freed as a slave for saving is master,came to england .when do not know as no records sadly. but have is marriage .and details
in England.have no mother for Horace.if anderson gray is mine would be old enough to be Horace
 father.as would be 29.
 do not have access to American census sadly. so hoping some-one out there as

Hi Mike,

Looking at an 1880 US census Dover, Stewart, Tennessee showing a Anderson Gray aged 70 years. Could be a coincidence but his age would roughly match 1891 enumeration of voters.

Further up the same census sheet is Andrew Gray aged 50 years and family.

                   Thank you.Anderson gray.on my family tree.is down as born in Tennesse U.S.A
 That is the information Horace gray put on is marriage cert.as father.sadly did not say any-thing about is mother.horace was very very dark in colour. and it ran through the gray family.even my uncle stanley gray was very dark this was 1977.only found out why.when hard about horace gray.
 what a hard a terrible life it must have been for a slave in 1840s.thank you for the andrew gray but sadly not sure mine. as Anderson gray is the person seeking.thanks again Sandra.
 ps strange name for is wife andersay.is this a ladies name?

Hi Mike,

Only mentioned the Andrew Gray since the family were living near to Anderson, sometimes families tended to do that and it can create another clue or line of research.  Maybe his wife was being referred to as Mrs Anderson Gray  ;)

             Did not think of that idea.thanks for pointing it out to me.wonder if andrew is a possible child of Anderson Gray as does state race (b) not up on American Census .but does the letter b mean was coloured.

                    Should have said on the 1868 horace gray marriage.anderson gray is given as a
                   WHEELWRIGHT.
