Open Golf Champion 1904
« on: Monday 22 July 13 11:29 BST (UK) »
I'm not sure that this is the right place for this.

Watching the golf this weekend reminded me that my grandfather's cousin Jack White won in 1904 at Sunningdale.  I wonder if there are any photos or better still film of him being presented with the trophy.  Was it the Claret Jug then?

Here's hoping.

The "Claret Jug" was first used in 1873 with the winner of the 1872 Championships name being engraved

on the same site a photograph of him playing and a profile of him

when he won at Royal St George in 1904 (he is listed as the Professional at Sunningdale)
