College Training For Girls c.1950?
« on: Wednesday 24 July 13 23:15 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Can someone tell me please where would have been the nearest place a girl living in Idole in 1946-1950 at 18-22 years would have received teachers training? Thought it could be Trinity University in Carmarthen but it appears girls were not allowed admittance there until 1957. TIA

I would hazard a guess at Swansea Training College, but it could be any training college, or even university with a teacher training course added on after graduating. Then as now people travelled for a decent education.

Sorry can't be more help,
