Isn't her father David on the marriage cert? 1901 for the family doesn't have very good writing

Tynewydd ? Penboyr RG13/5139 folio 26 pg 8
David James head mar 42 ag lab
Rachel wife 42 b. Llangeler
Mary dau 22 stocking knitter b. Llangeler
Samuel son 19 woolen weaver
David son 12
Lewis son 10
Rachel dau 7
Josiah son 2
all born Penboyr except where noted, all Welsh speaking

Think David may be a fiddly one going back as there are a few Davids born Penboyr of around the same age, one marries a Mary and another marries an Achsah.

Theres a Mary with father James at Penygaer, Llanpumpsaint in 1901.

I know her place of birth is down as Llanpumpsaint there, but could it be that she didn't know laster on in life?
