I thought it would be impossible because the photo. looked like it had been through a crusher.

Thank you everyone. The transformations are incredible.

What picture restoration are you all using and did you have to buy a special program to do this. I would like to have a go at some myself but funds are limited at the moment.

I use Paint Shop Pro 7

it's an older version.  Photoshop Elements is also a good programme, also Picasa.
